Follow this guide to connect Deepgram to your OpenClaw bot so voice notes can transcribe automatically.

Video walkthrough:

What this setup does

In the current Agent 37 dashboard, Deepgram is used to turn on automatic voice-note transcription for your OpenClaw bot. Once connected, audio messages can be transcribed inside your bot workflow.

Step 1: Create your Deepgram API key

  1. Open the Deepgram Console.
  2. Create a new API key for the project you want to use.
  3. Copy the key and keep it somewhere safe.

Step 2: Open your OpenClaw bot

  1. Go to your Agent 37 dashboard.
  2. Open the OpenClaw instance you want to configure.
  3. Open the Advanced tab.
  4. Scroll to the Voice section.

Step 3: Paste the API key

  1. Find the Deepgram setup card in the Voice section.
  2. Paste your Deepgram API key into the input field.
  3. Click Save key.
After the key is saved, the bot is ready to transcribe voice notes automatically.

Step 4: Test voice transcription

  1. Send a voice note through your connected channel.
  2. Wait for OpenClaw to process the audio.
  3. Confirm the bot receives the transcript correctly.

Troubleshooting

  • Make sure the API key was copied correctly from Deepgram.
  • Check that you saved the key on the correct OpenClaw bot.
  • Retry with a fresh voice note after saving the key.
  • If the bot is unavailable, wait for it to return to a running state before updating the key.
